Vasant Swaha was born in Norway, always being rebellious, never fitting into the so-called normal ways of society, he left the country at the age of fifteen. "The pull for adventure and exploring life was too strong and there was something deep in my soul that 'remembered' something..."

He traveled around Europe and North Africa, ending up in India. "I felt immediately at home, the ancient vibes of meditation and the sacred are still hanging over that country."

In 1977, after traveling in the Himalayas and South India, Swaha met Osho and felt in his heart that "No more seeking is needed; from now on the journey is inwards. I found my Master." Now he really could devote his life to the ultimate adventure: to know who one really is, to come home in oneself. This journey included many ways and disciplines, various psychotherapeutic processes, dance, martial arts, yoga, massage, colorpuncture, hypnosis, healing, and, as a thread running through all these, meditation.

For many years, Swaha lived in the ashram as Osho's bodyguard. Later, he became a teacher of meditation, healing arts and growth groups. Swaha lived in USA and Mexico, where he gave private sessions and was involved in running centers for meditation, health and therapy. All these experiences gave him a deep understanding of the human conditioning and habits, and the ways to free oneself.

In 1991, one year after Osho had left his body, Swaha had a long tropical sickness that almost killed his body. During this very intense time he felt that existence rearranged all his "wires". After this he experienced a profound inner transformation and clarity. "I was no more the one I was yesterday. I had no identification with any personality or ego. The whole past was gone. I was 'drowned' in peace, in a deep spaciousness and silence. This was the climax of seeking, the flowering of sannyas. Now whatever happened was in the hands of Existence, God. I did not know what had happened; it was too new; I felt like a newborn baby in a grown-up body. There was an immense pull for nature, for being more in silence. All doing was gone."

After that, Swaha felt drawn to the Himalayas and years went by integrating this inner explosion. He met "a beautiful ancient friend called Giridhar." Enjoying their inner and outer freedom, they wandered around these beautiful mountains, where so many enlightened ones had traveled and lived.

In 1992, Swaha met Poonjaji. "My beloved Papa, Poonjaji, was a tremendous gift. He was really a lion of Truth. No words can express my gratitude to him." Papaji told Swaha: "Go, go and share This." But that was to take another five years.

With Ramesh Balsekar there was also a beautiful meeting and a good belly laugh, for "all there is, is consciousness."

Then one fine spring morning, in the mountains in the heart of India, it became crystal clear from the deepest place in his being that there has never been any I, only Life, Love, Consciousness, only Existence itself. The last shadows of doubt disappeared and the inner explosion was digested and integrated in the body-mind.

Soon, people started to recognize this light of being; Swaha began to receive invitations from friends and seekers to share ‘This’ in Satsangs and retreats. He traveled all over the world for a few years. In 2000, some friends found a place in the mountains of Norway that later became known as Mystic Mountain. Swaha said "Yes, let's get it. This is a good place. I'm tired of traveling around the world; let the seekers come here from now on." Nowadays, Swaha seldom travels. However, every year he still leads retreats by the ocean in the south of Brazil.
