"Do you have the patience to wait until your mud settles and the water is clear?"
Lao Tzu
First you need to have the understanding that you are muddy.
Not everybody has this understanding.
Then you need the longing to become clear.
It is mysterious - no matter how muddy you are, there is consciously or unconsciously a remembrance of some clarity - there is something that makes you a little uneasy about being so muddy, about being so sleepy, so confused.
Everything, everybody, including you comes from the same source - the Tao.
Therefore the source has to be in you and in everything.
This memory is somewhere inside you - it has to be - it is you in your deepest level.
No matter how much mud, how much mind - this clarity, this diamond is there, in the center. Have the strength and the courage, have the understanding and the trust, to go on cleaning. Have the patience to wait until the mud settles and the clarity comes. This is the homework.
The clarity is already there - the only problem is that you are not. You are somewhere else, away from the center, and things become muddy. When you are close, everything becomes very clear. If you are far away, you don't even know whether it is real or unreal. So, come closer - come back to yourself, back to the moment, back to the source. Everything will fall into place - in fact, everything is in place, everything is perfect.
