Entering the Silent Heart:

Today, the last day of the retreat, the clouds gave way for an eager sun to break through.

Ah! The joy of celebration. Eyes sparkling like neatly cut diamonds, never ending smiles and hearts bursting with warm, soft love and so much gratitude.

Coming out of Silence with newborn, innocent hearts, ready to share. With arms reaching out to embrace a fellow traveler, we are grateful to be a part of this happy gathering of ancient friends.

Hearts ripe with sweetness and juicy from the love of our Beloved guide. Tears of love, of longing, of fulfillment, of gratitude and of joy.

Thank you, Swaha.
Thank you, Love.
Thank you, Life.
Thank you, Nature.
Thank you, Friends.

Entering the Silent Heart:

Rainy days. Clouds like cotton wool dancing so low that you can almost join them in their flirt with the forest and the mountains. A sensuous veil embracing the secrets of Mother Earth.

Yesterday, some of us enjoyed a silent walk following the rivers and lakes of Vassfaret. Like naked entering into this purity, a landscape untouched, vast and open. Innocently receiving nature, breathing in beauty, each step so present it becomes a prayer.

Then some tender rain. Surrendering to nature we lie down on a bed of moss letting the soft raindrops caress our faces. Sun in silent hearts.

In love with life. In love with nature. In love with Love.

Today, once again we could meet our Beloved in Satsang. A feeling of coming home and cuddling up in front of the fire, finding comfort and warmth inside the womb of love.

Entering the Silent Heart:

Naked in front of the Beloved. Helplessness. Courage. Vulnerability.

We are sinking deeper and deeper, into the depth of our longing. Beyond this little life, beyond all our petty wants, needs and distractions.

Slowly, remembrance starts happening, and all longings become one. Everything else disappears.

Sinking into Silence. Rising in Love. The gratefulness of vulnerability.

Layer after layer of protection and fear is lifted as we are embraced by the Beloved. Trust and Love remains. Along with shining eyes and graceful smiles, all turned inwards to this silent meeting with ourselves, with our Beloved.

There is nothing to be found on the outside. Everything we long for is already patiently waiting in the depth of our own hearts. It contains both the Lover and the Beloved. When this is truly realized - then Gratefulness becomes Life itself.

There is nowhere to go, just to rest into this miracle of Love.

Entering the Silent Heart:

The sky is so full of clouds, still pregnant with more rain, but our hearts are warm and bright like on a sunny day. Gratitude is overflowing for the precious gift we are receiving here.

Honesty and sharing breeds clarity and release. Standing up for who we are. The longer we stay with our Beloved the more naked we dare to be. There is courage and willingness. To open, to change, to receive, to be available.

Silence is tangible. Like a thick warm cozy blanket that is becoming more comfortable as we take rest in it. Rejoice in it. Celebrate it.

Thank you, Beloved, thank you. That is all there is to say.

Entering the Silent Heart:

Moments of totality. Keeping the energy for ourselves creates a new intensity in all that we experience and gives life the opportunity to flow freely through us. There is nothing we can do. It is all about letting go, surrendering into the river of life - flowing, flowering.

When the words stop, the heart remembers another language, another way of seeing, a new sensitivity. Colors are brighter, fragrances appear more pure, sounds are clearer and movements happen more smoothly - we become present.

Life is happening now!

Even though our minds carry on creating so-called problems, now we experience moments of clarity. Being in the presence of our beloved guide, it is impossible not to be a smile.

Entering the Silent Heart:

With faces more and more innocent, awareness turned inwards, our eyes open as for the first time when we, like wondrous children, discover something new. A way of communicating with nature which for many has been lost since childhood, was so funnily shared in a friend's Satsang letter today.

In this space it suddenly becomes quite natural for us to talk with the humble bees, hug trees, dance with the butterflies across the fields, bow down and smell the earth and the flowers. Or just simply sit still and feel the silence of these ancient mountains. The return to our own innocent nature.

Entering the Silent Heart:

The challenges of silence: restlessness, things coming up, the mind...

Then calmness. It takes time for our busy minds and restless bodies to relax and allow us to  fall into our selves, into silence. And to fall in tune with nature. Happy trees, pearly rain, a roaring river and even the chatter of the swallows provides a backdrop of silent beauty.

More important is to fall in tune with our Beloved and learn the language of the unspeakable - to venture the journey from what is understandable to that which is not, from the expressed to the inexpressible, from our heads to our hearts.

To support this process, Rebirthing is on the program this week. This is a simple, yet powerful method where we use our breathing to reach deeper layers in ourselves. It brings a release and a certain softness to our hearts.

The sun is playing hide and seek. Here one moment, gone the next. Teasing us with the promise of blue sky after rain.  Some things come, some things go, yet something always remains...

Entering the Silent Heart:

After a few days break in the program, we meet again. This time it's for three weeks in silence, three weeks of taking care only of ourselves. Just to go inwards, and to take shelter in the cave of the heart.

Some people are just joining us, taking a break from their busy lives. Others who have been here since the last retreat might have drifted back into the habit of doing.

Accepting that we may start with a restless body and a restless mind, now there is nowhere else to go but into our heart, into our silent, warm and cozy heart. It is always there, ready to welcome us, simply waiting for us to listen to it.

All our needs are taken care of here so we can easily go into silence. We are even supported by the weather, as the rain keeps calling us to go in, go in, go in....

Yet we are encouraged by a glimpse of the sun slipping it's bright head through the clouds with the prospect of more to come...
